BIOGRAPHY
MEET Chex!!
This handsome boy is super sweet, but in true doxie fashion, he doesn’t come without his quirks! Chex is overall a lovely little boy, but he is very headstrong and doesn’t like to be told what to do. Sound familiar, doxie peeps? He especially doesn’t like anyone hanging around his food bowl and will let you know if you get too close. He lives with another 1-year-old dachshund, and they are friends now, but Chex wasn’t fond of this
interloper when she first came on the scene! We think Chex would do fine with another more submissive dog in the home, but it could take him a bit to warm up.
Chex was actually adopted briefly, however, he was anxious after being separated from his family and his adopters gave up on his after only 2 days:( Please know that it may take a while for Chex to settle into a new environment, so he needs a patient adopter who is willing to give him that time. We also feel that having another young dog in the home that he could play with would be a huge bonus, as he has LOTS of energy to burn! Chex also prefers to sleep up in the big bed with his humans, so only applicants who are willing to allow him to do so will be considered.
Chex does well walking on a leash and LOVES his walks! He is reactive to other dogs on-leash, so he doesn’t make any friends on those walks. Chex is fully housetrained, and crate trained, and he is NOT a fan of cats!
Chex is fully vaccinated and heartworm negative. He is currently located in Dagsboro, DE and his adoption fee is $400.00.
