Meet HONEY (aka Betty Sue)!
Meet Honey aka Betty Sue. She came to Sophia Grace’s rescue a couple months ago when her elderly owner could not longer care for her and half dozen other small dogs. Betty is very sweet and very shy. Her left eye is a little smaller than her right eye and she doesn’t see well out of it. She also is very reserved about coming close to hands when called as though she’d been hit in the face when she would approach. When another dog is near and getting some loving, she will then come over but she keeps her head/face very low and does not allow petting on or near her head. She loves belly rubs and will turn on her back for one. Upon arrival to foster, she wasn’t shy about getting on and sleeping on the bed. She likes to sleep at the foot of the bed and sometimes wants to be up against my legs. Occasionally she will burrow under the blanket.
Betty LOVES the warm spring air and sunshine. She quickly learned to use the doggy door that opens into the fenced back yard. When it is warm out chooses to spend much time sitting outside and exploring the backyard. She has an opinion about everything, whether it is the neighbors’ chickens or goats, voices she can hear, or people she can see. She likes to bark, but her barking isn’t excessive.
She wears a pool noodle around her neck when outside because she has (unwitnessed) gotten through the fence a couple times. The pool noodle doesn’t seem to bother her, and she cannot “escape” while wearing it.
Betty was recently spayed and had a large inguinal hernia repaired. She has recovered completely from that surgery.
Honey is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She is being fostered in Hamilton, OH and is available for an adoption fee of $350.00.
