BIOGRAPHY

Meet Shayla!

Shayla came into rescue after the passing of her loving owner. However, she was in the care of another family member for a period of time, whom she didn’t seem to get along with. This made her very fearful and guarded. However, once you have her trust, she blooms into a completely different dog.

Shayla is a sweet, highly affectionate and loving dog to the people that she trusts. She loves to sit in your lap, give kisses and receive belly rubs. She has TONS of personality in an environment where she feels safe. She loves to play with toys and can play fetch for as long as you have strength to throw. She also enjoys playing with her foster siblings and tends to have more stamina than any of the rest of them. She tends to be dominant amongst other dogs when establishing pack order.

This precious girl would do best in a home with a very patient person who understands that Shayla still has a lot to learn and takes time to trust. She would benefit from having other well-balanced small dogs around. They can help bridge the trust gap. Because she can be fearful and jumpy, a quiet environment would be preferable with someone who is home more often than not.

She is vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She is being fostered in Fredericksburg, VA and is available for an adoption fee of $400.00.
