Meet Poppy, a 3–4-year-old dachshund mix with a big personality!

Poppy's journey hasn' been easy - she was found as a stray, emaciated and matted, with a deep-seated fear of the outdoors. But with love and care, she's blossoming into a playful, cuddly companion. Due to her anxiety, she requires medication twice a day and patient housebreaking. However, she transforms at night, enjoying potty breaks and zoomies under the stars!

Poppy is still working on her house training, so she may have accidents in the house. To make cleanup easier and prevent any messes, we recommend using dog diapers until she's fully trained.

Poppy adores:
- Snuggling in bed with her humans
- Nightly finger nipping sessions
- Playing with furry friends (especially when they're not in the mood)
- Stuffed toys and blueberry treats
Poppy needs:
- A gentle, understanding owner to help her overcome her fears
- A home with a younger, playful dog to keep her entertained
- Older, respectful children (no young kids, please)
- No cats for now

This sweet girl may be shy at first, but once you've earned her trust, she'll reward you with endless love and laughter. And be prepared for games of catch me if you can't; when it's time to go outside! A fenced yard is preferred, as Poppy loves to be out after dark exploring the yard.
