Nugget has been in his foster home for a short period of time, and the transition from the shelter has been seamless. He was surrendered by his previous owner after NEVER having seen a vet, however it is obvious that he was shown love because Nugget is a very sweet and loving boy. When his foster parents picked him up, he jumped in the car and gave kisses on the way home. He's a good eater and there is no problem with medication, just put in his food. Found out he likes blueberries, but he doesn't like carrots. He's a good jumper, as foster mom got a large "playpen 28' tall" and he jumped out, so they are working on crating him at night. He greets guests that come to his foster home enthusiastically, but without barking or jumping. So far, he seems to conduct himself as a perfect gentleman!

Nugget loves car rides and walks and is good on a leash. He also loves running around the yard and barking at the squirrels, so his adopter should have a fenced yard and/or be committed to taking him on daily walks.

Nugget is current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and neutered. He also needs a dental, but he has recently recovered from a bout with pneumonia and the shelter felt he needed a few months post-recovery before putting him under anesthesia again. The shelter in York, PA will perform his dental at no cost, so adopter must be wiling to bring him back to their facility in August for his dental. If adopter takes him elsewhere for his dental, the rescue will NOT cover the cost.

Nugget will make someone a very happy, loving and loyal companion. He would do well in a home with or without children. He is currently being fostered in York, PA and his adoption fee is $400.00.
