Meet Roscoe! He is believed to be a lab/shepherd mix, approximately 11 years old. Roscoe was surrendered to the shelter when his owner passed away and her son had a rough time with Roscoe and his electric fence. The staff at the shelter said Roscoe was deaf or mostly deaf, but the longer he has been with his foster family they are not so sure. He may be a little hard of hearing but is likely more of an independent stubborn old man!

Roscoe has been great around foster mom’s two small dogs, but sometimes doesn't realize his own size. He has had positive interactions with the cat in his foster home as well. Roscoe came to us with food aggression, very nervous, and a bit untrusting. He is getting better with the food, but he does occasionally get possessive over food items. Any potential adopter would need to understand this and continue to work with him. As long as food is not within his reach, he is a sweet Teddy Bear!  His walking on a leash is still a work in progress, but he loves being outside and would thrive with a fenced yard to run around in. He looks like a little horse trotting around the perimeter of the yard! He does great in the car, loves to meet new people, does his business outside, and does well being left alone, no need to be crated.

He still has some spunk in him but spends most of his time napping or with a peanut butter filled Kong. He is not a big cuddler and does not give kisses, but he loves butt scratches and belly rubs! Roscoe is looking for a home with a warm spot to lay, no small children, and wouldn't mind the company of any smaller, calm animals.

Roscoe is currently fostering in Mount Vernon, OH and his adoption fee is $200.00.
