BIOGRAPHY
Queen Rachel, previously known as Rascal, and affectionately referred to by her foster mom as “Ray Ray” is now up for adoption .
Rachel has taken time off work on her health and getting into shape. She changed her name and her diet and now she is a lean mean Bassett mix machine.
Rachel is about 8 years old and weighs about 40 lbs. She’s had some tough times and has the scars and a bit of a limp to prove it but she’s tough, she’s mighty and she’s pretty sure she’s in charge.
Rachel is house broken and prefers to not be in a crate (but she will be quiet and well behaved if she is in a crate.) She prefers a bolstered dog bed to a simple mat and the beds at Marshalls work great for her (just sayin’).
Rachel is fine with stairs and walking short distances. She’ll even run a bit when the spirit moves her. She’s not lazy, she just has legs of minimal height.
One thing about Rachel…. What she lacks in legs, she makes up for in a voice. Rachel likes to have her presence and opinions heard. She would not be a good candidate for an apartment or townhouse unless the neighbors like barking. She doesn’t bark all the time, but she is a queen, and queens need to be in charge and there is no running or funny business in her domain .
There is a soft side to Rachel. She is sweet and kind. She loves attention. Even when she was going through some tough times (which had to be painful) she always let me try to help her and comfort her. Although she can’t get on furniture, she loves to sit or lie and get attention. We don’t think little children would be a good fit for her (given her past injuries), but we feel she’d be fine with children who are a bit older and more careful.
RayRay is a wonderful dog!!! She is funny and boisterous, and it has been a joy to watch her go from a tired sickly dog to a vibrant dog who finally has hope for her future and is not afraid to bark out that joy.
Rachel is currently being fostered in Conshohocken, PA and her adoption fee is $350.00. If interested in adding this Queen to your kingdom, please submit an application
